Our Name
Volcano Video Productions was originally started back in 1987 as Ka `Io Productions. Ka `Io (pronounced ka e o) is the name for the native Hawaiian hawk, which is a cool name that we like. However, we've found that virtually no one from outside of Hawai`i can either say our spell this name correctly. So, since we specialize in filming volcanoes and work in Volcano, Hawaii, we decided in 2000 to simply change our name to Volcano Video Productions. It's easier to say and spell and reflects what we do. We've kept our old name too, so if you know us that way it's fine. We can do business under either name.
